New Years!!!

Our New Year was pretty uneventful. We spent it with family, but had to go back down to our house before the ball dropped. Taxten needed to eat and get into his jammies. Randy actually fell asleep on the couch and Taxten zonked out in my arms all before the ball dropped. I had to wake Randy up just so we could watch the ball together. I did get a new year kiss from 2 of the most handsome guys in the world! Here are some pics.

My favorite time of the day...

I do love all parts of being with Taxten, but my favorite times are snuggling with him while he is sleeping. Just being able to hold him in my arms and stare at all his perfect little features amazes me. He is the best gift Heavenly Father has given me, besides my amazing husband Randy. I love this kid to death. He is my everything. :)

Taxten is obsessed with pop cans. I don't know why, but he totally loves them. He has never had pop, so that isn't the reason. He loves to suck on the can and will stare at them from across the room. He always is trying to grab Gamma's pepsi when she comes over. LOL

You will prolly see a lot of images of Taxten sleeping. I just think it is the cutest thing ever, so that is why you will see so many. :)

Photo Shoot and Safari Park

While in California I had to do some Christmas pictures of Taxten. The first couple are just a sample of the ones that I took.

We went to San Diego's Safari Park which is a park affiliated with the zoo. We got to see an actual cheetah run a track chasing a stuffed toy. It was the coolest thing to see and hear it's paws hitting the ground and how fast it was! It was honestly the neatest thing about the park. Chase wore his panda hat most of the time that he got from Disneyland. He was so hilarious with that hat. Taxten thought he was pretty funny too.

We told Shay to touch this bird, not because we thought it would bite her... LOL

Disneyland!!!

Disneyland was SO much fun. I was super surprised though when we got there. I was expecting the castle to be right at the front and to have this huge Disneyland sign that you walked under. Don't ask me where I got that from, but that is what I was expecting. LOL I loved going in the off season because we were able to go on tons of rides and see lots of the different characters. We actually got to see almost all of the princesses, but they were always leaving when we found them.

Taxten thought that the characters were super funny. He would just stare at them and touch them. He was so funny to watch. Chase was totally like a little kid too. He was so excited to see Tiger, they even did like some awesome guy handshake. Shayley and I saw Jack Skelington and totally wanted our picture with him, but he had to leave right when we were going to get in line. When we were coming back, he was back out, but with Sally. I didn't want her in the picture, so we asked for one just with Jack. No jokes, Jack was super offended and then Sally pretended to cry and it was super awkward after that... Oh well still got my picture like I wanted.

When Taxten would go on the rides, instead of looking at everything and watching, he would instantly fall asleep. Such a cutie. There were a lot of Asians there and they were in love with him. They kept coming up to us and pointing at his faux-hawk and then would take pictures of him. Our child might end up on some foreign billboard, but we are ok with that. We had such a fun time!

Vegas with the Baby

We took Taxten on his first vacation. We drove all the way to California, but stopped in Vegas to sleep there for the night. Taxten didn't like it very much. He was super onerery the whole time we were there. I guess he could feel the difference. You can't tell in the pictures, but he really wasn't a happy camper.

5 Month Pictures

I just did some pictures of Taxten for his 5 month pictures. I am sure I will do another shoot this month, but I wanted to get the fall leaves before they were gone. Taxten had a blast playing in the leaves. I let him play with them and put them in his mouth while my mom and I watched him super close to make sure he didn't actually eat one. We must not have watched close enough, cause the next day Randy found a piece of a leaf in his diaper. Woopsie! LOL We just love his little bear suit for the winter to keep him warm. Randy says that he looks like Mario from the Mario Brothers game when they get the bear suit. He totally does! This kid is just too cute. :)

Halloween Trick Or Treat Parade

My parent's neighborhood does a Halloween parade. They have hot dogs and treats for you to eat before you walk up and down the block to trick or treat and show off your costume. It was really fun to be able to take Taxten out and not have it be too cold for him, plus I like that it was still light outside. We didn't really know what to think of everything and was pretty much done once we had walked down one side of the street. LOL We still had fun though. I even got to see one of my high school friends there with her adorable family! My mom gave Taxten a treat to play with to keep him happy until we got back to the house. Good thinking mom! :) My cute nephews had fun too, Xaiden was too funny being a vampire. Izen was way too busy trick or treating to get pictures taken. He was a wizard though and cute little Taven was a sad giraffe. We had lots of fun.

Taxten has found his toes! He loves eating them and grunts when he is pulling them up to his mouth! He is too fun. I am in love with these pictures. When he was a newborn I wasn't able to get any pictures of him sleeping. He was always awake, or when he was sleeping, I was too tired to take the pictures myself. I wish that I was able to capture pictures of him as a newborn like I do for other people, but it just didn't happen. Luckily though I was able to get some of him like I have always wanted... SLEEPING! It was super tricky to do this and he totally peed on the blanket! LOL But it was totally worth it in the end. These picture melt my heart and bring tears to my eyes. My little boy is too precious...

I did two shoots of Taxten at 4 months. These ones were super fun to do. He is so funny and kept trying to arch his back which was making him almost fall out of the basket. Little stinker is getting too big! Thank goodness I had my sweet sister Shayley there to help me and make sure he didn't fall out! She is such a great helper and is the best sister ever! She also took the picture at the bottom for me. Thanks missy pants!

Here's a quick update on what's been going on in our world...

Taxten loves his bath times, we sing songs and he sucks on the washcloths. :)

Taxten is figuring out how to work his hands. He can actually grab his toys now. When he first learned how to do this, he couldn't figure out how to let go and was screaming. LOL

Taxten is now 3 months old. I know I say this every time I post, but the time is flying by. I can remember having him and holding him for the first time as if it were yesterday. I never got any pictures of me and him together when he was a newborn and it totally breaks my heart. I asked my brother to come over and help me do some pictures of me and Taxten together. I have tons of pictures of Randy with the baby, but hardly any of me with him. Jer said that he would, which I am SO grateful for! Jeremy has helped me on another shoot when I did pictures of just myself for my new blog/website and they were awesome. I keep telling that kid to come and shoot with me cause we would be an awesome duo, but he hasn't yet. Anyway, I got everything set up for him and he did amazing. I honestly cried when I looked at the pictures to check how things were coming out in between shots. I love how the pictures were able to capture how much I love my little guy, even though he was being a serious man that day. My all time favorite if I can pick just one has to be the last one. It really makes me cry every time I see it. Thank you Jer for everything! I love you!

Time is flying by for me. I can't believe that yesterday my little baby turned 2 months old! I just did some pictures of a baby that was only 3 weeks old and I couldn't believe that Taxten has grown so much. It blew my mind seeing that brand new baby and then holding my chunker! He has his 2 month appointment coming up next Tuesday and I am excited to see how much he has grown, but not looking forward to having him get his shots. I am trying to make sure that Randy will be there, so I don't have to cry. Taxten now does his little bottom lip pucker, which breaks my heart! I don't know if I will be tough enough to get him poked on my own... Here are some recent picture of him though. He is so much fun I love being a mommy to such a gorgeous little baby boy!

Taxten is killing me lately. He does the biggest smiles! Our awesome friends bought his this amazing tie that we just had to do pictures with. Just love this little guy. He is almost 2 months old. He has lost a ton of his hair, except in the back which looks like a little baby mullet, he laughs, and smiles. There is nothing better than seeing my amazing husband sleeping with our precious little boy in his arms. I can't believe how big Taxten is getting. Just going through these pictures and seeing the major differences in him is astounding and it's only weeks. Even though he is still a baby, he doesn't have that newborn look to him anymore. It makes me sad how fast he is growing. We love this little boy more than anything. Randy always says how cool Taxten is. He is like our favorite toy, but this toy never gets old and just keeps getting more and more fun! It is so awesome how this precious little child has brought so much more love into our home.

Taxten came into our lives on the 24th of May and has completely taken over. Our friends would tell us how you become obsessed with your child, but honestly it is an obsession that completely over takes your life in such an amazing way. I can't stop watching him. I love every thing about him. From the way he laughs in his sleep to his little cries when he is hungry. Every thing about his just blows me away. I can't stop, I am obsessed. :) Being a mom is hard work, but honestly so rewarding. The little faces that he gives when I feed him, the smiles that he shows, the little hands grasping onto my finger, there is nothing better than this. Taxten is my world!

The Birth Story...

Randy and I were totally not ready for the whole birth process. I think that it was the hardest part of every thing so far. I had not dilated or really even done anything by the time I was at 41 weeks pregnant. My Dr finally decided that we would do an induction. I was so ready! I couldn't wait to not be pregnant anymore. I wanted to hold my baby in my arms, not my tummy! We went into the hospital on Sunday night around 8:30 and stayed there until Thursday. Needless to say it was a long time in the hospital. We were super lucky though because we LOVED all of our nurses at the hospital. They were all amazing. The whole delivery process was very stressful for both Randy and I. I can't believe the amount of pain that one goes through. I held out on my epidural until I just couldn't take it anymore. I must say that the epidural is the most amazing thing EVER! Taxten came into the world on Tuesday the 24th at 2:30 AM. I pushed and pushed and pushed to get that big guy out. I was completely exhausted by the time I got to hold him. He was 9 lbs 6 oz and 22 inches long. So many people had told me how amazing it is to hold your baby for the first time, but I can't even begin to tell you what it is like. It is something that has to be experienced. To see this little child that you created and spent so much time with and to finally see them and hold them, just blows me away. Taxten is such a special child. He couldn't be more perfect. We didn't know this at the time, but he actually broke his collar bone during delivery. He has been such an amazing baby and hardly cries even when he was dealing with a broken bone! I know that my Heavenly Father gave me this amazing blessing and I cherish him so much! (I must give a special thanks to my sisters Tiffany and Shayley for taking these pictures so that I can remember this amazing moment forever! I love you guys!)

Easter Weekend

We had a blast Easter weekend. We dyed Easter eggs together as a family. The eggs turned out awesome. We went to 3 different Easter egg hunts, which the grandkids totally loved. It was super fun to watch them running around gathering up eggs and prizes. We even did an Easter egg hunt at our house on Easter day for all of them and they got tons of prizes. Overall it was super fun!

Chase is only a sophmore and is playing on the varsity team for Roy High. It is so awesome to go and watch that kid work his feet. I swear this kid has so much talent it is ridiculous. Every thing he does is amazing! No jokes. Here are just a couple shots that I got from a recent game. They played Syracuse High and won them. Prego 36 Weeks...

The time for our baby to arrive is coming so quickly. We had thought that he was going to come yesterday, but still no baby yet. I got this sudden realization that I have so much to finish getting done before he is here. I came home and quickly cleaned the house, bathed the dogs, rearranged things in his room and then crashed on the couch. Still no baby... It is interesting to me how things suddenly change when you think they are on the way. Up until now we just knew we were having a baby and it was scary. When we thought that he was going to be here soon, it was like every thing changed. We both felt excited instead of scared. I can't wait for the little guy to be here to hold and watch grow. (Thanks to my mom and dad for helping me get these at home pics ps! They did great.)

Randy's 1st Stitches-Gross!

Wow where to begin on this one. I normally don't write a lot on my blog. I normally let the pictures tell the story, but last night we had quite the incident and I have to tell the story.

I was sitting at the computer working on some pictures when Randy casually comes into the house...

"Hey honey." He says as calm as can be.

"Ya babe?"

"I am going to need your help, but you can't freak out." Still as calm as ever.

I turn around and there he is in the doorway with blood all over him. Honestly it was every where and gushing from his hand. I immediately start panicking. I had no idea how bad things really were because he was hiding the real problem from me. All I could see was blood on his face, and his hand was covered in blood. We ran into the bathroom and start to wash him up. He had a pretty good cut on his finger that was causing most of the blood. Then he shows me the real issue on his arm...A huge gaping wound.

"OH MY GOSH!!! WHAT DO WE DO???" I am completely panicking now.

"We just need to get the butterfly bandages out and I'll be fine."

Ya... He honestly thought that we could just bandage his arm up with band aids and everything would be ok. WHAT????!!!!

I honestly had to argue with him about how he needs stitches and how we were going to the Insta Care right now. He finally gave in and it was a good thing cause he definitely needed stitches.

Apparently he was cleaning out his headlight on the truck and it completely exploded sending chunks of glass flying every where. He was lucky that his arm and his hand took the full impact of it and not his face, although he did get a little cut on his cheek.

They had to cauterize the inside of his wound because of how deep it was and it wouldn't stop bleeding.

About right after they started to stitch him up, it hit me. I am not good with blood AT ALL. I WILL pass out and I almost did. I was sitting in the chair when it finally all sank in. My hearing starting to go away and I started to get tunnel vision. The cold sweat started and I felt like I was going to vomit. They quickly got me some orange juice and I put my legs up on a chair. Luckily I stayed with it! LOL

After all the stitches were done.

Randy was all finished and they even gave him some awesome dinosaur bandage for home to wrap it up with!

My husband is so stinking brave. No jokes. I love this guy so much. The fact that he had this huge cut on his arm and he was more worried about how I was going to react just melts my heart! I am so in love with him. :)

Happy 27th to Me!

We celebrated my birthday a little late because my actual birthday I shot my cousins wedding all day.

The next weekend we went out to breakfast at Jeremiah's! YUM! My family didn't quite know what to do with it being so early. We got there for the Break O' Dawn special, which is my fave!

Because we went to breakfast so early, I told everyone to just come in jammies and not worry about what they looked like. Jer and Steph wore hilarious jammies! It cracked us all up!

Later that night I had decided I would love to go lazer tagging! It is one of my fave things to do.

It's a tradition in our family to always do cake and ice cream on Sunday. Randy made me the cutest cake! He did sprinkles and everything! It was so yummy!

Baby's Room Sneak Peak

The baby's room is so close to being finished. I am super excited about how all of it has been coming together. We only have a little bit more to do and thank goodness cause he is going to be here before we know it.

This is his changing table before it gets a makeover. Randy is helping me to paint it and I hope that it looks as neat as I invision it. I will post some after pictures as soon as it is done!

Pool Party!!!

For Shayley's 15th birthday party we went to Surf n' Swim in Layton. It was so much fun! The whole family went and had a great time. My dad and brothers, except Golden cause he was holding his baby, took a belly picture with me. It cracks me up. I think for sure that I have them all beat though. :) It was so nice to be able to go into the water and feel so light. I loved it! My neices and nephews had a blast too. Obviously they haven't picked up on how scary water is yet... Well for me anyway.

I had told Randy and I wanted a picture of us together, so he decided to put his butt in the air for the picture. Classy.

My husband is so stinking funny! We constantly go in and out of different hobbies and foods that we like, not just when I am pregnant. Right now he is totally into guns. It cracks me up. Every weekend he is like a little kid asking if I want to go shooting with him. Here are some pics of us shooting. We went out in Tooele and out by Locomotive Springs. It is so fun to watch him have a blast. I always sit in the back of the Escalade with my Carebear blanket and some snacks and cheer him on as he hits all the targets. Occassionally I will shoot. :)

Baby Dear...

I haven't been very out spoken about my pregnancy. For some reason I just want to keep it to myself, to hold all the special moments between Randy and I. I guess I am just not that great at talking about personal things, but I guess the emotions are getting to me and I have to post about it. I have included a couple of pictures of what pregnancy looks like from my point of view, literally.

There is something so truly breath taking about watching your body change. Knowing that it is all for this little being that will be coming into your world. Being pregnant is about change. Suddenly you aren't focused on you.

The waistline that you once had doesn't seem to matter.

Going to the appointments and hearing that everything is ok and he is growing perfectly, that is what matters.

Feeling those precious little movements.

Knowing when he likes something that you have eaten.

Playing games with him by chasing his hand across your belly.

Seeing his precious little face when you have an ultrasound.

Getting the nursery ready and going through the crazy nesting phase (which Randy is loving because I am getting so much done!)

Praying every day that he will grow into an amazing man.

This little life that hasn't even fully entered your world has already changed it. The love that I have for him and my love for Randy seems to have completely grow into something I never could have imagined. Randy has completely been there supporting me through it all.

I must admit when I first found out I was terrified. I had no idea what to expect, only knew that this was something that would change me forever. I am grateful for the changes now. I am still scared, scared to death, but know that things will be ok. That somehow I will know how to raise this precious gift I have been given. That I will teach him of our Father in Heaven and give him the special gifts that my parents gave to me.

Sledding OH YAH!

Randy and I have been wanting to go sledding all year long, but with me being preggers, we just didn't find the time too. Luckily we had such a great snow storm that we were able to go during the day, so that I didn't freeze my buns off. Don't worry I didn't sled. I just took tons of pics, which was equally fun for me. We took my lil bro and sis with us and the kidos of course. Toyota is totally our snow pup. He loves to run in the snow and catch snow balls. Tundra doesn't really like the snow because she is so tiny that she literally gets lost in it. She does like sledding though. You can actually take her down on a sled with you and she just enjoys the ride. Toyota on the other hand... That is just a bad idea to take him. Randy took him down on the sled and Toyota actually bailed off and then got plowed by Chase. No worries he is tough and is ok, but no more sled rides for him!

The boys took some wicked spills, but luckily didn't get more than sore muscles the next day.

Man I love this guy! He just melts me inside. :)

I thought I would put these ones at the bottom to see if people actually go through all the pics, since I post so many! Randy and I thought it was hilarious how big my belly is in my snow bibs, so we had to get a couple shots.

Toyota and Tundra have been a little bit needy lately. I think because there are a lot of changes going on and they can tell. I decided to take some pictures of them. Tundra is pose master. No joke she just knows what to do and lets me do my thing to capture it. Toyota on the other hand... He has to be bribed and then he doesn't have the natural adorableness that he normally does. He is our little tender heart. His big auburn eyes just melt me. Tundra (aka the model) always looks perfect. She is like an alive stuffed animal. I love these guys so much! I thought I would post some pics of them I took today, cause once the baby comes, who knows when I will take some more of them! jk I am sure there will be plenty of pics of them with the new addition.

We call her lizard tongue among many other names.

Randy and I love that Toyota has a cow spotted belly. He has had that since he was a puppy. LOVE IT!

Sister Christmas Tradition

My little sister and I started this tradition that every year we go and see certain lights and then go and get a Slurpee aftewards. We have been doing this for years now. It is so much fun to go and run around the lights and take pictures together. I look forward to it every year! Don't ask me how we started it or how the Slurpee part was even thought up. I mean we are already freezing and then we go and get a cold drink?!! LOL I know, but that is what we do and that is why I love it! I can't believe how beautiful Shay is. She is not only gorgeous on the outside, but the inside too. I love you to death my little missy face!

Ward Halloween Party

Randy and I went to our ward halloween party. We had a fun time and dressed up. My brother was hilarious! And his kids had the coolest costumes. They were Woody, Buz Light Year, and Slink from Toy Story! Randy and Chris one of our neighbors had to pose together. LOL

So ya, remember that time that I had a blog and would actually update it! BWAH HA HA! Those were good times. Here a just a few pics of things that we have been doing, sorry no belly pics. Those will come later. We went fishing in the Uintahs back in October. The weather was crazy when we went. At first it was really pretty and fall, then when we got to our fishing spot, their was tons of snow. It was so cool to go through the different seasons in one trip! Randy and his parents all fished, but I had to make a snowman!

24th of July Family Time

On the 24th of July we had a barbeque and then did fireworks. Izen, Shayley and Marissa decided they were going to go swimming in the middle of things. Izen learned to ride a two wheel bike, so we had to get pictures of that. He is such a cute kid. Randy fly his plane, mom and dad talked and played with the kidos, Taven ate lots of treats and watermelon, Golden did the cooking, and we all enjoyed the day.

July Fun Part 1

These are some pictures of us camping as a family. Everyone was there except for Shayley, Tiffany, and her family. They were camping just not with us this day. I only got pictures of everyone in the morning after we they all had just barely woken up. It is amazing how people don't like pictures of them taken when they first wake up... Weird ;) We had a lot of fun.

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone is so pretty. I had no idea it was as big as it is. We were only there for days, but made sure to see everything we possibly could. The weather was nice and cool when we were heading in, which is great cause our AC in the car just went out. I loved how the sun was shooting rays of light through the clouds as we headed to Yellowstone. When we finally arrived in the park, there were people pulled off the road for ever. When we finally got to the point where we could see why it was because there were some female elk and their babies grazing in the field. That is one thing in Yellowstone, people will stop to see the animals and you will wait in traffic for a long time. We eventually made it into camp and right after we got thing set up my family came back and met us. While we were getting lunch set up a group of deer decided to join our camping adventure. They literally walked right through the camp ground. There were two males and one female. After lunch our first stop for the day was Old Faithful. People say that it doesn't go as high as it used to, but according to the park managers, that is just a myth and it is the same as it always has been. It was pretty neat to see how high it shoots in the air. You wait quite awhile for it to go off and then when it does, it seems like it doesn't stop. I actually got bored after several minutes of watching it. Randy decided he was going to watch it back in the shade. It makes me laugh seeing him sitting there on the ground with his knife. LOL I gave Chase one of my cameras to help take some pictures, plus I didn't really feel like hiking carrying both of them around my neck. He got some awesome shots too. After we saw Old Faithful we walked around to see all the other hot pots in that area. I can't believe how beautiful it all is. Some of the pots had the prettiest blue water like Hawaii's, but it will actually scald you if you touch it. There were signs everywhere with the little Boy Scout getting burned. Those crack me up! My favorite spot and I can't remember the name was the area with the bright blue water and orange sand looking stuff. I loved the contrast of the colors. It was amazing. Golden at one point during our trip had a little friend come and see him. There was a little bird that decided to land on his window ledge of the car and then hop in on his shoulder. He gave him a little nibble on the ear, then back onto the window ledge before flying off. Over all we had an amazing trip and saw so many gorgeous things. It was so much fun to spend time with the family making memories like this.
